Erma I. Hamer, 86, of Derry, NH died Monday October 27, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Hamer was born in St. Croix, Nova Scotia, Canada a daughter of the late Hugh O. and Annie O. (Whiting) Brown. She was raised in Raymond, NH and had lived in Windham, NH prior to moving to Derry in 1958. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Raymond and a former member of the Raymond Congregational Church.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, H. Lowell Hamer of Derry, two daughters, Cheryl Mackell of Warrenton, VA, and Laurel Adame of Mission Viejo, CA, two sons, Brian Hamer of Derry, and Bradley Hamer of Novato, CA, also three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Maxine Carver of Raymond, and Jeanne Ciavadone of Staten Island, NY, also several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Thursday October 30, 2008 from 5 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 1:30pm in First Parish Church, 47 E. Derry Rd., Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
