Carl G. Gonsalves, 68, of New Bedford died on October 16, 2008. He was the husband of Annabella Fonseca.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late James P. and Mary Germaine (Lemos) Gonsalves.
Mr. Gonsalves was formerly employed as a sectional manager for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 30 years until retirement.
Survivors include his wife; his former wife, Barbara (Richard) Gonsalves of Fairhaven; three sons, Stephen and his wife Deborah of Marion, Brian of Fairhaven, and Mark and his wife Sheryl of New Bedford; two sisters, Colleen Gonsalves of New Bedford, and Doreen Gonsalves and her companion Pat Mello of Falmouth; a brother, Roland "Scrappy" Gonsalves and his wife Patricia of New Bedford; two brothers-in-law, John V. Fonseca of Dartmouth and Donald Pacheco of New Bedford; two sisters-in-law, Isabel Gonsalves of Fairhaven and Florence Gonsalves of New Bedford; three grandsons, Hunter, Toby, and Trevor of Marion; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Carl was the brother of the late Robert D. Gonsalves, Joan Pacheco, and Donald J. "Bucky" Gonsalves.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Sunday November 2, 2008 at 3 PM at the First Congregational Church of Marion, 28 Main St., Marion. Visiting hours are omitted.
