Douglas W. Mayer, 46, of Londonderry, NH died Sunday October 26, 2008 in the Community Hospice House of Merrimack. Doug was born in Pompton Plains, NJ on November 13, 1961, a son of Douglas M. and Carol (Grahn) Mayer. He was raised and educated in Wayne, NJ. Doug had resided in Londonderry for the past 10 years, formerly living in the Derry and Nashua area. Doug served in the US Air Force for four years before receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Mass at Lowell. He had been employed for Sanders Associates in Hudson, AMCC in Andover, MA and more recently Motorola Corp. in Lowell, MA. Doug enjoyed playing softball, supporting the Boston Red Sox and was an avid NY Giants fan.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa M. (Carr) Mayer of Londonderry, three daughters, Kim Bouse of Londonderry, Nicole Plourde of Haverhill, MA, Michelle Mayer of Londonderry, two sons, Matthew and Justin Mayer of Londonderry, two grandchildren, Cameren and Leigha Plourde of Haverhill, his parents of Stockholm, NJ, his maternal grandmother, Marion Grahn of Wayne, NJ, his brother, Dennis Mayer of Verona, NJ, his sister, Karen Mazowiecki of Wayne, also several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held Wednesday October 29, 2008 from 4 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Thursday at 10:00am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Burial followed in Pillsbury Cemetery, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children of Doug Mayer Fund, C/O Bank of America, 175 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH 03053.
