Gladys B. Brown, 95, Clarksville, died Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Shelby Funeral Chapel, East Prairie, MO with Brother Aubrey Wilson and members of the family officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born January 16, 1913, in the Barnes' Ridge Community near East Prairie, MO to the late Joseph Burris and Mary Perneitha Lindley Bard. On January 28, 1931, she married Wallace Brown who preceded her in death on February 21, 2002. Locally she was a member of Madison Street Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons, Joe (Barbara), Clarksville; Ted (Carole), East Prairie, MO; and Stan (Linda), Gainesville, GA; six sisters, Frankie Pulhamus, Bernita Hopkins, Barbara (Louis ohen, and Mary (Jack) Gabler of Glen Carbon, IL; Patsy Givens, Burnsville, MN; Sue (Don) Broussard, Baton Rouge, LA; one brother, Mackie Gene (Shirley) Bard, Glen Carbon, IL, eight grandchildren including Brandon (Christi) Brown, Nashville; and Leighton (Chrisie) Brown, Clarksville; twelve great-grandchildren including Autumn Brown, Clarksville; and twelve great-grandchildren. Five brothers, Sonny, Marvin, Carl, Ike, and Jack Bard, and two sisters, Fostine Fugate and Loleta "Tootsie" Wing, preceded her in death.
