Obituary

Vernon J. Schrock, 73, of Omega died Friday, October 24, 2008, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Wayne Boykin will officiate with a private burial to be held at a later date. Friends and family are invited to Antioch Baptist Church in Omega after the service on Monday, October 27, 2008, for a meal and fellowship.

Mr. Schrock was born on June 25, 1935 in Middleberry, Indiana and was the son of John "J.L." Schrock and Amelia Bontrager Schrock, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Schrock and Ella Reed. He was a retired automotive technician and a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Omega He was a well-known short track racer in the Midwest and had lived in Omega for four years.

Mr. Schrock is survived by his wife, Ruby Plank Schrock of Omega; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bud and Kimberly Schrock of Plain City, Ohio, and Don Schrock of Plain City, Ohio; two step-daughters and their spouses, Gina and Dan Miller of Buffalo, New York, and Rhonda and Robert Tyree of Plain City, Ohio; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Jim and Jean Schrock of Marengo, Ohio, Leroy and Shirley Schrock of Goshen, Indiana, Levi and Diane Schrock of Norman Park, and John Schrock of Allensville, Pennsylvania; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ada and Vernon Mullett of Middleberry, Indiana, Esther and Jonas King of Goshen, Indiana, and Pauline and Vince Vairo of Benson, Arizona; two grandchildren, Kendalyn and Karrisa Schrock, both of Plain City, Ohio; and five step grandchildren, Davis and Dawson Miller, both of Buffalo, New York, and Michael, Kayla and Veronica Tyree, all of Plain City, Ohio.
