
Donald J. “Donnie” Wentworth, a thirty year resident of Halifax, formerly of Rockland, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday October 20, 2008. He was 60 years old. He was the beloved husband of over 33 years to Betsy ( Hennessy ) Wentworth. He was the loving father of D.J. Wentworth and his wife Amanda of Kingston, Tanya Snyder of Arizona and Timothy Wentworth also of Arizona. He was also a father to his late daughter who passed away at birth. Other survivors include his 3 sisters, Carol Anderson, Judy Hobes, Cynthia Botts and his brother Jack Wentworth.
Born on July 31, 1948 in Boston, Masssachusetts, he was a cherished son of the late John Wentworth and Mary ( Bischek ) Wentworth. He attended Rockland Public Schools and was a graduate of The South Shore Vocational Technical High School.
Mr. Wentworth was employed as a welder for Mercury Metals in Abington for over 27 years and the Dimark Company in Whitman for 8 years.
He was also an avid sports fan and was a member of The Sons of the American Legion in Hanson.
At the families request, all funeral services will be private and donations to The Hospice Of The South Shore, 100 BayState Drive, Braintree, MA 02184 in Donnie’s memory, would be appreciated.
