Alice B. DeVine, 82

Alice B. (Bellavance) DeVine, 82, of Mansfield passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday October 21, 2008.
Born in Mansfield, MA on November 15, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Machad) Bellavance.
She grew up in Mansfield and was educated in Mansfield public schools. Mrs. DeVine was a retired Press Operator and had worked at the former Sterling Manufacturing Company in Mansfield prior to retiring.
Alice had made her home in Mansfield for most of her life and had also resided in Norton for several years. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield and while living in Norton had attended St. Mary’s Church where she enjoyed playing Friday night bingo.
A member of both the Mansfield and Norton Council on Aging, she was honored by both the Massachusetts State Senate and the Massachusetts House of Representatives for her many years of faithful volunteering.
Her hobbies included listening to country music and sewing and when younger Alice enjoyed dancing. Her happiest times spent where those in the presence of her loving family.
She was the devoted mother of the late Nancy L. McKenna and June F. O’Brien. She was the sister of Irene Pedro of Attleboro and the late former Mansfield Fire Chief Cyril Bellavance, Henry Bellavance, Eva Cook, Loretta Cook and Lillian Gray. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Deborah Morris and her Spouse Jo of Berkley, Arthur O’Brien, III and his wife Gwendolyn of Maryville, Tennessee, Kathleen Hooker and her husband Barry of Seymour, Tennessee, Army Specialist Sean O’Brien and his wife Mara Hall of El Paso, Texas and Christopher McKenna of Taunton, her cherished great grandchildren Eagan and Quinlin O’Brien, James Hooker, Tanna McKenna, Susan Bacon, Linda Broomhead, Courtney Brunelle and Brianna O'Brien, also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the longtime companion of the late Alfred Masso.
A Memorial Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday October 27th at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Alice with a donation in her memory to the Mansfield Council on Aging 255 Hope St. Mansfield, MA 02048.
