Obituary

Kathryn Denley Wells, 89, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital, N-MS in Oxford, MS on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. She was born at Big Creek, MS and lived most of her life in Water Valley, MS. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Water Valley for 63 years where she sang in the choir and enjoyed many other areas of service. She worked at Big Yank Manufacturing for 20 years and spent several years working at Webb’s Drug Store and Ray’s Department Store.

The visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Barry Dickerson officiating. The committal will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley with Clay Ashford, Bill Larson, James Larson, Eddie Ray, Bennie Cole Taylor, and Melvin Ford serving as pallbearers. Binnie Turnage and Cryp Tyler will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Wells is survived by two sons, David Denley Wells of Water Valley, MS and Steven Page Wells of Nashville, TN; one sister, Becky Martin of Jackson, MS; three brothers, George Denley and Larry Denley of Coffeeville, MS and Jerry Denley of Grenada, MS and six grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Al Dean Wells, II in 1970; two sons, Al Dean “Bully Dean” Wells, III, and Mike Wells; one sister, Margaret Langham: and two brothers, John Robert Denley and Paul Denley.
