Paul J. Lariviere, 74, of Fairhaven died Tuesday October 21, 2008 suddenly at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Jacqueline (Chase) Lariviere.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Oscar A. and Dora M. (Doyle) Lariviere, he lived in New Bedford and Mattapoisett before moving to Fairhaven 10 years ago.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
Mr. Lariviere was formerly employed as a registered pharmacist who owned and operated Lariviere's Pharmacy in New Bedford. He later was employed by CVS Pharmacy.
He was a former member of the Mattapoisett Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus, McMahon Council. He had been an avid ham radio operator.
Survivors include his wife; four children, Paul J. Lariviere, Jr. and his wife Jessica of Wayne, PA, Peter Lariviere and his wife Lisa of Salisbury, Julie Lariviere Cabucio and her husband Steve of Lakeville, and Ted Lariviere and his wife Lisa of Fairhaven; six grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel, Tyler, Luke, Christian and Robert; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Gerald O. Lariviere.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, Fairhaven. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
