
                                Jeff F. Piercy, a Newton resident since 1954, died Monday Oct. 20, 2008 at the Newton Wellesley Hospital. He was 93.
Born in Andrews NC, he graduated from Andrews High School in 1935. He worked with the CCC and also on the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge. For many years Mr. Piercy was employed by Perini Construction Co. and had worked on the Mass Turnpike, the California Aqueduct and Seabrook Nuclear plant. He was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Newton.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Hallie (Baldwin) Piercy, his children Thomas H. Piercy of Carlisle PA, Michael H. Piercy of Henderson NV and  Anita Wysocki of Westwood; his sister and brother Maude Stoops of Wichita KS and John Piercy of Morgantown NC, 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Jerry and Maurice Piercy.
A funeral service will be held on Thurs Oct 23 at 10 AM in the United Methodist Church in Newton, 430 Walnut St. Newtonville. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Visiting hours will be in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Wed from 4-7 PM.
