Joseph M.Cabral, 67, of Cider Lane, Greenville, a retired state marshall, died Monday at the Hospice Inpatient Center. He was the beloved husband of Rosemarie (Rylander) Cabral.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Manuel M. and Mary (Raposa) Cabral. He had been a resident of Smithfield for fifteen years and had previously lived in Fox Point.
He had served in the Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a founding member of F.O.P. Lodge #24, a member of the Fox Point Boys and Girls Club Alumni where had had been inducted into their Hall of Fame and the Fox Point Portugese American Social Club. He was a docent for the RI Historical Society and a volunteer at Butler Hospital.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son Donald Scholbel of Westchester, CA, a grandson Joseph Schobel, two sisters Bernice Hague and Barbara Harrington both of Riverside and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Visitation Wednesday 3-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
