Frances Minsky of Chelsea died on October 19, 2008 at the East Point Nursing Home. She was 87 years old. Frances was the beloved wife of the late Sidney Minsky.
Frances was born in Boston and attended the Boston schools and graduated from Boston High School Class of 1940. Frances worked as a cashier at Stop and Shop and was a member of the Retail Clerk’s Union. Frances loved children and was a devoted babysitter to her grandchildren as well as a proud sponsor of a child through Save The Children. She also loved puzzles, indoor gardening, and watching television.
Frances was the devoted mother of Beverly Minsky and her husband Michael Ford and Gerald Minsky. She was the dear sister of Irving Gilman, Selma Masel, the late Rose Gilman, and the late Tobey Donovan. Frances was the loving grandmother of Arthur, Desirae, Nicolette, & Aaron. Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq.) Chelsea on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Sharon. Memorial observance will be private.
