Anthony R. Giso, of Somerville, died Saturday at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He was 76.
Mr. Giso was born and raised in Boston’s North End, the son of the late Michael and the late Paulina (Branca) Giso. Anthony served with the Army during the Korean War. After the war Tony and his family eventually settled in Somerville. He worked as a fish cutter with Fresh Water Fish Co. in Boston until his retirement.
He was the beloved husband of Lena (Di Modica) Giso with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Michael Giso and his wife Janette, Paula Ripley and her husband Robert, all of Chelsea. He was a loving grandfather to Gina and Anthony Giso. He was a dear brother to Phyllis Melchionno of Revere, Samuel Giso of Boston, Richard Giso of Revere the late Grace Giso, Angelina Regan and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Catherine Of Genoa Church, 179 Summer Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
