Dorothy L. Silvia, 89, Woonsocket, died Saturday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Raymond Boucher, whom she married in 1941 and who died in 1944, and Arthur A. Silvia, whom she married in 1949, and who died in 2007.
Born in Taunton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph T. and Jennie (Gilbert) Ouellette. She was raised in Taunton and resided in Las Vegas, Nevada from 1969 to 1979 before moving to Woonsocket.
Mrs. Silvia worked for many years at the Eureka Mfg. Co, Standard Coil Co., and the Morton Hospital in Taunton.
While living in Woonsocket, Dorothy was a member of the St. Joseph and Sacred Heart Seniors Clubs. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlework, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing cards. She cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy L. Brousseau, and her husband Walter, of Woonsocket, two grandchildren, Christen M. Brousseau, of Blackstone, Michael D. Brousseau, of Providence, a great-granddaughter, Amber Guerin, and two nieces. She was the sister of Paul Ouelette of Taunton, Mass., the late Robert Ouellette.
Her funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket.
