Mary E. (Penza) Mazzarelli, 84 of Walpole died October 17 in the Ellis Nursing Center in Norwood. She was the wife of the late Anthony Mazzarelli.
Born in Walpole, July 2, 1924, the daughter of the late Antonio and Gaetana (DeChellis) Penza, Mrs. Mazzarelli was a lifelong Walpole resident.
Mrs. Mazzarelli was a graduate of Walpole High School and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Mazzarelli had a deep appreciation and respect for Nature and brought that out in her enjoyment of gardening and flowers.
Mary’s most treasured pleasure was her family of which she was devoted and from which she gave and obtained the greatest joy and fulfillment.
She was the devoted mother of Terese M. Mills of Concord and her husband the late Dr. Michael T. Mills.
She was also the adored sister of Frances Penza of Walpole and the late Irene Pereschino, Charles, James, John, Paul E. and Carmen Penza.
She was also the cherished grandmother of Francesca Anne Mills and her husband Patrick Joseph Purcell Jr. of New York City, Mary Ellen Mills of Boston and Stephen Michael Mills of New York City.
She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, October 23 from the Ginley Funeral Home 892 Main St.in Walpole at 8:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole at 9:00 a.m.
Burial will bein St. Francis Cemetery in South Walpole.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
