Obituary

West Boylston: Joseph Derderian, died Friday, October 17, 2008 at home. He leaves his wife Rose (Mosoian) Derderian, three sons, Seth and his wife Ann of Worcester, Steven and his wife Laura of Westwood, MA, and Mark Derderian of West Boylston, MA; five grandchildren, Armeney, Seta, and Ara of Worcester and Aaron and Ani of Westwood, MA and a sister, Margaret Boosahda of Worcester. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Thomas Derderian and two sisters Mary Tateosian and Sophie Shamgochian.

Joseph was born in Worcester, son of the late Setrag and Margaret (Balemian) Derderian. He was a graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy and was employed by the Keystone Shipping Company as a marine engineer aboard turbo electric tankers. He also held a LT. j.g. naval commission, serving aboard the cruiser Manchester. He was a retired self employed business man.

Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester is directing arrangements. There are no calling hours. A service will be held at the Armenian Church of Our Saviour 87 Salisbury St. Worcester at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2008. Burial will be at a later date in Hope Cemetery.
