Leslie G. Lacer, 66, of Londonderry, died unexpectedly October 17, 2008 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH.
Born October 1, 1942 in Evansville, IN to Lloyd and Juanita Lacer, Les resided in Hanover, MA and Nashua, NH prior to settling in Londonderry twenty five years ago. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-1964 where he acquired skills in the computer sciences which were subsequently used to own and operate a successful computer consulting firm known as Last Mile (formerly known as Lacer Associates).
In his spare time, Les coached several youth sports in the town of Londonderry, to include Softball, Basketball, Baseball and Soccer. Few things brought Les more pleasure than watching his children and the children of others explore and expand their physical and mental capabilities in an athletic setting. Les shared his love of the Red Sox and Patriots with his wife and children; leaving the current ALCS and football season under a cloud of gray. Les took immense pride in his “pie and cobbler” skills, delivering them during the holiday seasons and on occasion, using them as bartering tools when in need of a snow-blower or lawn mower.
Les leaves his wife of twenty-two years, Laurie L. Lacer, as well as his six children: Ronald Lacer, Stephanie and Lesley Lacer of Cape Coral, FL, and Alexandria, Samantha and Zachary Lacer of Londonderry. In addition to his wife and children, he leaves a cherished grandson, Jonas Castillo of Cape Coral, FL and two sisters, Deanna Cannon of Indiana and Peg Stevens of Alabama. He leaves several neices and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Lacer in 2007.
Calling hours were Tuesday, October 21, from 5-7 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 7:00pm in Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry.
