Mrs. Mary L. (Denault) Bailey, of Taunton, died Thursday, October 16 in Morton
Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late George S. Bailey. She
was born 76 years ago in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Leo V. and Edith A.
(Livesey) Denault. She was educated in New Bedford and was a graduate of New
Bedford High School and the Kinyon-Campbell Business School. Mrs. Bailey had
been a Taunton resident for the past 50 years. At the time of her illness, she had been
employed as a sales representative for Macy’s Department Store in the Westgate Mall,
Brockton for 24 years. She was previously employed at the former Jordan Marsh De-
partment Store in Brockton. She had also been employed as both a waitress and a
hostess at the former Gondola Restaurant in Taunton, and had also worked at the for-
mer Town and Country Restaurant in Assonet, and at the Continental Screw Co. and
at St Luke’s Hospital, both in New Bedford. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed
visiting Twin River in Rhode Island, cooking, especially at the holidays, and spending
time with her grandchildren. She was a communicant of the former Immaculate Con-
ception Church in Taunton.

5 grandchildren: Brendan Dowd, Carolyn Walsh, Jack Walsh, Brycen Dowd and
Joseph Walsh

Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay
Street, Taunton, on Monday, October 20 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial
will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church, 249 Whittenton Street, Taunton, at
10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. Relatives and friends
are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Taunton Western Little
League or to the Taunton Animal Shelter.
