ESSEX: Mildred Marie “Mickey” (Hinchey) Bean, 71, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester following an extended illness. She was the wife of Ronald W. Bean.
Born in Wakefield on November 20, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Alton J. Hinchey and Mildred L. (Hanson) Doucette. She had resided in Gloucester for many years before moving to Essex over forty years ago.
“Mickey” was employed at Rule Industries in Magnolia for several years before retiring in 2002. She had also once worked as a fish packer at the former Seafood Kitchen’s in E. Gloucester for twenty years and also as a stitcher at the former Royal Sportswear on Maplewood Ave. in Gloucester. She was a member of the United Seafood Worker’s Union. She enjoyed making handmade jewelry, crafts and playing cards.
In addition to her husband of fifty-one years, she is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Joanne and Barry Peacock of Epson, NH, Naomi Bean of Magnolia and Linda Parady of Essex, a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Beverly Bean of Pinellas Park, FL, four grandchildren, Luke Young, Joshua Wojtowicz, Meaghan Wojtowicz and Michael Parady, a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy “Toddy” (Hinchey) and Richard Haight of Gloucester, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jeffrey L. and Sally Doucette and Carlton R. Doucette all of New Hampshire and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a brother, Dana T. Doucette and her stepfather, Carlton T. Doucette.
Her funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Assoc., 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
