Charles S. Lee, Jr., 85, Clarksville, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 12 noon Saturday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Bill Hutton officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. A Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oviedo Methodist Church Cemetery in Oviedo, FL.. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Lee was born October 28, 1923 in Oviedo, FL son of Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Lee. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during WWII in the Phillipines and Japan. After graduating Georgia Tech in 1948 he worked for B.F. Goodrich in Akron, Ohio and Clarksville until 1972; then for Vulcan Corp as a technical manager until retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Rubber Division of the American Chemical Society, and the Southern Rubber Group. Charles was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville as an Elder and Sunday School teacher. He was respected and loved by all who knew him. Charles was a devoted husband and wonderful father. Survivors include his wife, Martha Moon Lee, daughters Sharon Wingo of Goodlettsville, Claire Overmyer of Ooltewah, and Elaine Elder of Dayton, TN; three grandsons, Wes, Lee, and Dan Wingo; two sisters, Thelma Clonts, and Dorothy Jones, and a brother, Robert Lee in Oviedo, FL. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and nephews.
