Obituary

In Stoughton, October 14, 2008 Joseph E. died after a lengthy illness at the age of 85 in New England Sinai Hospital. Joseph was the husband of Emma (Damato) Murray. They have resided in Stoughton and were formerly of Taunton and Raynham. He was born in Taunton to his late parents Joseph E. & Alice (MacCusker) Murray. Joseph attended Taunton schools, graduated from Coyle High School and Providence College. Joseph served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He was the former owner of Murray Liquer Stores in Taunton. He was a member & past president of the Taunton City Council in 1966 and enjoyed playing pool and sports. Joseph leaves his children Sandra Anderson and her husband Paul of Middleboro and Frances Smith and her husband David of Cedarville, MA. His siblings Alice Roaen of West FL., James Murray of Mansfield and the late Lillian Slusack and Jack Murray. Grandfather of Tatum Straub of Mattapan, Nicholas Longo of Taunton, Ian Keaney of Centerville, Tara & Tracy Anderson of Middleboro. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton on Friday, October 17th at 10:30am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann’s Church in Raynham at 12pm. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 4-7pm. Interment in Bourne National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:45pm.
