Mary Elizabeth (Roche) Seskevich, 92, of Main Street in
Leicester passed away Sunday, October 12, 2008, at the Jewish Healthcare
Center's Home Hospice in Worcester. Her daughters were with her.
Mary's husband, Victor J. Seskevich, died in 1988. She is survived by
her daughters, Jean Maney of Worcester, and Elaine Casey, with whom she
shared a home; her brothers-in law, Charles Jacobs of Florida and John
Lilley of Virginia; her dearest friends, Nancy and Paul Chase of
Leicester; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her
sisters, Claire Jocobs, Helen Waite, and Nathalie Lilley; her brothers,
Paul, Vincent, and William Roche; her sisters-in law, Elizabeth Ann Roche,
wife of William, Jeanne Roche, wife of Vincent, and Anna Seskevich; her son-in-law, H.
Joseph Maney; and her nephews, Dennis and William Roche.
Born in Worcester, Mary was the daughter of the late Grace (May) and
William A. Roche. She grew up in Madison, Maine, and was valedictorian
of her class at Mount Saint Mericy Academy in Waterville. Mary and
Victor were married on April 27, 1944, at the Church of Saint Peter in
Worcester. They moved from Worcester to Leicester in 1955. Mary worked
for many years at the former H.H. Brown Shoe Company, where she was
secretary to the president, and retired as a senior cost accountant. In Leicester,
she was a founding member of Saint Pius X Church, where she was
principal of the CCD school and a long-time member of the Altar Society. She was
also active in the Leicester Girls Scouts, Mothers' Club, and FISH.
The family wish to express their thanks to the nursing staff of the Home
Hospice and the Auburn VNA for their care and compassion.
The funeral will be held Friday, October 17, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Pius
X Church, 1153 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow at Pine Grove
Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to Auburn Dist. Nurse Assoc., 191 Pakachoag St.,
Auburn, MA 01501. Morin-Morrison Funeral Home, 1131 Main St., Leicester
is assisting with arrangements.
