Loretta Souza, 81, of Westport passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008. She was the wife of 65 years to Antone R. “Tony” Souza.
Born in Fall River, she lived in the Flint area prior to moving to Westport in 1968. Prior to retirement in 1988 at the age of 61, she worked for 31 years at Truesdale Hospital and 5 years at Charlton Memorial Hospital beginning as a scrub technician then as an anesthesian technician. She was a Communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. A member of the Fall River Art Society, she enjoyed doing oil paintings. An avid reader, yard saler and shopper, she enjoyed cooking, baking, but most of all loved spending time with her family and friends.
Including her husband, survivors include a son: Roland “Butch” Souza and his wife Beverly of Westport; 3 grandchildren: Debbi Souza-Sylvain and her husband John, Roland “Butchie” Souza and his wife Brenda and Jeffrey Souza all of Westport; 4 great grandchildren: Tara E. Souza, Taylor M. Souza, Cameron D. Souza and Matthew C. Souza all of Westport; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, October 15, 2008 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Tuesday 4 - 7 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
