Obituary

Paul Wathen passed away October 8, 2008 in Naples, Florida.

Paul was born March 25, 1922 in Harrison County, Indiana to Paul Ignatius Wathen and Mary DeChantal Dillon Wathen.

Paul moved with his family to Louisville, Kentucky as a child. After serving in the Army Air Force during World War II, he graduated from University of Louisville Speed School of Engineering in 1949.

He married Mary Catherine Shircliff on June 12, 1948. Paul and Mary Catherine later lived in Greensburg, PA, Cherry Hill, NJ, and Taipei, Taiwan. Mary Catherine died on January 18, 1983. On September 28, 1990, he married June (Lien-Fang) Chang, with whom he resided in Naples, Florida. He was pre-deceased by his brother Richard and his sisters Margaret Head and Joan.

Paul is survived by his wife June, his daughter Judy and daughter and son-in-law Karen and Jim Smith and their daughter Madeleine, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Paul had a long and distinguished career in electrical engineering at many corporations, including Westinghouse Electric, RCA, and General Instrument. He enjoyed traveling, home improvement projects, bridge, genealogy and visiting with his family. He was well-loved and will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation will be Sunday 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown on 9318 Taylorsville Road.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery following a Mass of the Resurrection at Saint Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 South 6th St. on Monday at 10 am.
