Obituary

WORCESTER-James F. McFadden, 84, passed away Thursday, October 9 after a brief illness.

His wife, Dorothy A. (Laverty) passed away in 1988. He leaves his son, James F. McFadden, Jr. of Marlboro, his sister, Loretta M. Laverty of Worcester, nieces and nephews. He also leaves two cats, Maggie and Molly. Two brothers, Austin B. and John McFadden and his sister, Nora V. McFadden predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of Austin and Nora (O’Grady) McFadden and graduated from St. John’s High School. He was a WWII Navy veteran. Mr. McFadden worked as a Car Inspector for ConRail Railroad in New York, New Haven and Hartford and also for the Worcester School Department before retiring. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church, Main South American Legion Post #341, VFW Post #3329 in Millbury, a life member of the Worcester Chapter #4 Disabled American Veteran’s and a former member of the AOH Division #36.

The funeral will be Tuesday, October 14 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main St. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
