Boaventura L. "Bo Boy" "Ben" DaSilva, 83, of New Bedford died April 12, 2003 at Mariner Health of Southeastern Massachusetts after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Lola (Yonko) DaSilva and son of the late Hermangildo L. and Maria (DaRocha) DaSilva.
Mr. DaSilva was born in New Bedford and lived in Fairhaven most of his life.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mr. DaSilva was formerly employed by Raytheon in Portsmouth, RI for many years until his retirement. He also worked for the family business with his father at Lopes Press in Fairhaven.
Mr. DaSilva served in the US Army during World War II.
He enjoyed watching sports.
Survivors include his daughter, Ramona Harrison, and her husband George, of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Lisa Harrison and Curtis Harrison, both of New Bedford; 3 great-grandchildren, Anthony Harrison, Breanne Harrison and Izais Harrison.
He was the brother of the late Richard Garcelon.
