Rita (Massey) Brooder, 79, of Westport passed away Friday, October 10, 2008 at home. She was the wife of 60 years to Donald J. Brooder.
Born in Westport, daughter of the late Wilfred L. and Euphemie (Thibodeau) Massey, she was a lifelong resident of Westport. A devoted wife and mother, she was a Communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport.
Including her husband, survivors include a son: Wayne J. Brooder of Westport; 3 daughters: Donna Santos of Smithfield, RI, Cheryl Florio of Westport and Brenda McGovern of Tiverton, RI; 8 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Edgar Massey, Roland Massey, Loretta Gillette and Lucy Beaudoin.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, October 14, 2008 from the Potter Funeral Home at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 9:00 A.M.
Calling hours Monday 4 - 7 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
