Obituary

Marion L. (Lakeman) Randlett 85 died Thursday Oct. 9th after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late James W. Randlett.

Born and raised in Peabody she was the daughter of the late Grover and Esther (Johnson) Lakeman.

She was educated at the S.S. Pierce School of Cake Decorating in Boston and worked for many years for Connors Home Bakery and later for Jackles Bakery. She taught cake decorating classes at both Abington High and Whitman-Hanson High School.

She was a 60 year resident of Whitman, and a member of the Whitman Senior Citizens. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, and corresponding with her “pen pals”, she also loved to travel.

She was the beloved mother of Louise Owens and her husband Paul of Whitman, and Marie Mastropietro and her husband Richard of Hanson, and the loving grandmother of Paul and his wife Cheryl, Jeffrey and his wife Tammy, Mary, and Michael and his wife Lauren. She was also a loving great grandmother to Chrystal, Meghan, Daniel, Sarah, Ryan, Tucker, and Lindsay. She predeceased by her sisters Gloria and Alberta.

The family of Marion would like to thank the caregivers and friends of Colony House Nursing and Rehab for their compassion and outstanding care over the past years.

Her services will be held Wednesday Oct. 15th at 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a mass at 10 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday Oct. 14th from 5 – 7 PM. Donations may be made in her name to the Colony House Nursing & Rehab / Activities & Christmas Party Fund 277 Washington Street, Abington, MA 02351.
