Obituary

Goffstown- The Soul of Angele F. Hansel left her body on October 8, 2008. She was the daughter given by God to Elphege and Josephine M. (Lebel) Chabot, in Manchester on May 7, 1927, and they raised her in the Roman Catholic faith. Her attendance in the Ste. Marie parochial schools was under her middle name, Francoise, and culminated with her graduation from high school in 1945. Later she went to work in Washington, DC where she had to assume her first name, with the nickname Ann.
Her retirement from the New England Telephone Company was in December of 1991, six months after the death of her husband, retired USMC M/ Sgt James Hansel. Her older brother, Joseph E. Gerard Chabot predeceased her in 1962. She is survived by one brother Robert F. Chabot, of Manchester. She also leaves nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Hansel was a member of the Association Canado-Americaine and a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Her Catholic faith was very important to her. For a time, she was a lector at Ste. Marie Roman Catholic Church, first in English and then in French. On December 8, 1997, she was introduced to the Melkite Catholic Church. Intrigued by the Eastern Rite of the Catholic Church, she started to read the writings of the Early Church Fathers. As a result she requested and was granted a transfer which became effective on June 13, 1999, a day that brought her overwhelming joy which never left her. The years that followed were the happiest of her life, regardless of any illness that beset her.
