Barbara Sperling Cohan,77, passed away on October 7, 2008 at Pendleton Health & Rehabilitation Center, Old Mystic, Connecticut after an extended illness. Her loving husband of 42 years, Jerome Lee Cohan, was at her bedside.
Barbara was born on May 17, 1931. She graduated from Tudor Hall in 1948 and attended Indiana University.
In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her mother, Gladys Sperling; daughters, Sherri Perk Reider(Jeffrey) and Betsy Perk(Gordon Martin); step-son, Bradley Cohan; step-daughter, Beth Bidgood(David); and grandchildren Mallory Reider Inselberg(Robert) and Nicholas Reider.
The family will forever be grateful to the staff at Pendleton for the loving support and care they provided during the past few months. In addition, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice team of Southeastern Connecticut. Their kindness will forever be remembered.
