Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Joseph E. Honyotski, age 77, a Tewksbury resident for 29 years, formerly of Walpole and Waterbury, CT, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell.
He was the husband of Teresa C. (Pianka) Honyotski, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 25, 2008.
Born in Waterbury, CT on July 16, 1931, he was the son of the late Erving E. and Katherine (Schauster) Honyotski.
Mr. Honyotski was raised in Waterbury, CT, attended Waterbury schools and was graduated from Levenworth High School in 1950.
He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.
Mr. Honyotski was awarded several decorations for his military service including the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Following his honorable discharge, he attended Babson College, where he earned his degree in Accounting.
Prior to his retirement in 1997, he was employed as an accountant by the C.R. Bard Company of Billerica, where he worked for 10 years. Mr. Honyotski previously worked as the controller for the Daniel Printing Company in Everett.
He was a communicant of the Holy Family Parish of Lowell.
Mr. Honyotski resided in Walpole for 13 years until moving to Tewksbury in 1979.
According to his family, he enjoyed photography, stamp collecting, collecting autographs, playing cribbage, and visiting professional baseball parks and football stadiums throughout the United States. In addition, he loved to tell silly jokes and was an avid New York Yankees baseball fan and New England Patriots football fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Peter J. Honyotski and his wife Carole of Lowell; three daughters, Marie L. Jollymore of Litchfield, NH, Diane T. Long and her husband Michael and Lori A. Honyotski all of Tewksbury; six grandchildren, Vanessa Pettengill of Sandy Hook, CT, Kerri Jollymore of Litchfield, NH, Amanda, Ashley and Brandon Long all of Tewksbury and Jake Jollymore of Litchfield, NH; two great grandchildren, Marcelino Hernandes and Ali Pettengill both of Sandy Hook, CT; two brothers, Erving E. Honyotski, Jr. and his wife Lois of Waterbury, CT and John Honyotski and his wife Harriett of Cheshire, CT; one sister, Barbara Holstein of Cromwell, CT; also many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Honyotski was the father-in-law of the late Donald B. Jollymore
Calling hours Friday, Oct. 10th, 5-9 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Saturday, Oct 11th, 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at Holy Family Parish, Chamberlain St., Lowell. Interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472 are suggested.
