Mary Hogan Bishop, 80, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Pine Level United Methodist Church with Rev. Keithen Tucker and Rev. Annette Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Bishop was born March 19, 1928 in Marietta, Georgia to the late Malone Ross and Frances Louise Byrd Hogan. She moved to Fitzgerald in 1997 from Sylva, NC where she lived for ten years and was a former resident of Delray Beach, Fl. Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker, hairdresser and a bookkeeper for Bishop Plumbing. She was a member of Pine Level United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald, a member of the United Methodist Women and a former member of Cason Memorial Methodist Church in Delray Beach, Fl.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by her husband of 62 years, Quentin M. Bishop of Fitzgerald; sons & daughters-in-law, David & Betsy Bishop of Boynton Beach, Fl and Gary & Cynthia Bishop of Stuart, Fl; daughter, Julie Mazza of Fitzgerald; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sister, Linda Collier of Moore Haven, FL; brother & sister-in-law, Ray & Irene Hogan of Blackshear as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Evelyn Turk Hogan.
