Obituary

Mr. Francis “Buddy” William Green of Medford and beloved husband of Joan Marie (Stamegna) Green, died at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester, Massachusetts, on Sunday evening, October 5, 2008. He was 81 years old.
Born in Bangor, Maine, on March 31, 1927, he was the beloved son of the late Francis W. and Helena (Rist) Green. Mr. Green was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1945. Following graduation, he entered the Navy and attained the rank of Seaman, first class. Buddy received his honorable discharge in July, 1946. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal and the American Theatre Medal for his service to the Navy.
Mr. Green worked as a pressman for Container Corp of America for many years.
Besides his beloved wife, Joan, he will be sorely missed by two daughter and one son-in-law; Deborah Ann King of Malden and Carol Lee and her husband Robert M. Cullen of Stoughton and seven grandchildren; Gina, Melissa, Michael, Matthew, Christopher, Eric and Alana. He was also the father-in-law of the late Paul R. King and brother of the late Roselle J. Murphy.
His funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Thursday, October 9, 2008, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were Wednesday, October 8, 2008, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
