Shirley L. Bucci, of Billerica formerly of Woburn passed away on Wednesday, April 9, at the Lahey Clinic Burlington, following a brief illness, she was the wife of the late Vincent A. Bucci who died in 1999, she was seventy-five years old.
Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Alice P. (Hall) and William J. DeCosta. She was educated in Somerville schools and lived in Woburn for over twenty-five years before moving to Billerica three years ago.
Shirley worked for many years as a bookeeper for First National Stores in Somerville and later for the Evergood market of Cambridge. Since her retirement she has enjoyed playing “Bingo”, and being with her many loving nieces and nephews.
Surviving are a granddaughter Nina Bucci of Billerica, two sisters, Barbara Foley of Billerica and Phyllis Davies of Lexington. One brother Kenneth DeCosta of Tewksbury, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her late husband Vincent A. Bucci, two sons, the late Paul Driscoll and Stephen Bucci, one sister Dorothy Downey, and two brothers William and Robert DeCosta.
Her funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Monday, April 14, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn at 10. Services will conclude with entombment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
