Arthur P. Moisan, age 95, was called by God into eternal heavenly rest on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Germaine (St. Louis) Moisan with whom he shared 55 years of marriage at the time of her passing in 1994.
He was born in Lowell on June 29, 1913, the last surviving child of the late Louis and Delima (Cantin) Moisan.
Earlier in his life, Arthur worked for the Remington Corp. in Lowell and was also a well known meat cutter in local markets. Later, he worked for Raytheon from which he retired in 1978.
Arthur had a smile and a helping hand for everyone he met. He was a kind and generous soul who always did his best. He loved his family dearly and will be missed. Arthur's grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He is survived by a son Richard Moisan and his wife Cheryl of Ashburnham; a daughter, Louise Delehanty and her husband Paul of Dracut; three grandchildren, Aimee Quinn and her husband John of Ireland, Justin Moisan of Brooklyn, NY, and Erin Douglass and her husband Todd of Dracut; two great grandchildren, Neil Arthur and Eva Quinn of Ireland, who just recently visited their loving great-grandpa; a sister-in-law, Alice Carbonneau, a brother-in-law, Raymond St. Louis and his wife Sophie, a special niece, Jeanne Perras of NY, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was the brother of the late Sister Eustelle Marie Moisan, Alma and Lillian Moisan, Corinne Bernier, Eva Hall, Claire Couillard, MarieAnne Langlois and Andrew Moisan.
At his request, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning, Oct. 7 at 9 o'clock at St. Francis Church, Dracut.
