Obituary

Edward F. Wright, age 98, a lifelong resident of Swansea, passed away Oct. 2, 2008. He was the husband of the late Dorothy B. (Brosnan) Wright. Born in Fall River, son of the late Michael B. & Ellen (Quinn) Wright. He was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Bradford Durfee Technical College, and Fitchburg State College. Prior to retiring, Mr. Wright was the Department Head of the Automotive Shop for 3 years at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School. Previously, Mr. Wright helped to start the Vocational Division at Case High School. He taught for 20 years at Case High School, teaching Applied Physics, Mechanical Drawing, and Auto Repair Related & Shop. He was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, National Education Association, & the Retired State, County, & Municipal Employees Association.

He is survived by 3 daughters: Anne (Wright) & Clarence E. Doane of Harwich Port, MA; Mary E. (Wright) & Terrence Groden of Cambridge, MA & Nantucket; Michelle D. (Wright) & Joseph A. Bullock of Swansea. 5 grandchildren: Nicole, Kendra, & E. Tyler Bullock all of Swansea; Nathaniel & Eranne Doane both of Harwich Port, MA. 1 great grandson: Nathaniel Eastman Doane Jr. Several nieces, nephews, and his beloved cat, Contessa Marie. He was the brother of the late Joseph & John Wright, Margaret Sault & Ellen Gabriel.

Relatives & friend are invited to attend his Graveside Service on Monday at 11:30 A.M. in Mount Hope Cemetery, Swansea, MA. At the family’s request, there is no calling hours. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Faxon Animal Rescue League, 474 Durfee St., Fall River, MA or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River, MA.
