Obituary

Mrs. Ruth V. (Bazley) Lambert-Beardsley, age 86, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 in Medford at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center, after a lengthy illness. Born in Watertown, Ruth was the loving daughter of the late Beatrice (Benoit) & Frederick A. Bazley.

Ruth was born and raised in Watertown, where she attended Watertown public schools and graduated from Watertown High School, class of 1939. She married Elbert H. Lambert, not long after High School, and they moved to Medford and raised their family together. Ruth worked as a bank teller at Harvard Trust Company in Cambridge, she retired in 1979. In retirement Ruth enjoyed her family and friends but most of all she loved the company of her grandchildren.

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Elbert H. Lambert & the late Harold Beardsley. Devoted mother of Joyce DeMattia and her husband Nick, Barbara King and her husband Elmer, Virginia Maffeo and her husband Ralph all of Medford, and the late Larry Lambert and his wife Janice of Tewksbury. Loving grandmother of Pam DeMattia, Nicholas DeMattia, Kelley Carney, Kimberly Carioli, Michael, David, and Ralph Maffeo, Matthew Lambert and the late Elmer King III. Also survived by 13 loving great grandchildren and 1 loving great great granddaughter. Sister of Frederick Bazley of Indiana, the late Laura Lightbown, Melba Hennessey, Hazel Howley, Vera McLaughlin, and Shirley Barber.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Monday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
