John Shea, Age 88 died at the Pine Knoll Nursing Center of Lexington after a brief illness.Mr. Shea was born in Somerville and was a lifelong resident.
A 1933 graduate of Somerville High School, he worked as a Fork Lift Operator for the Stop & Shop Company for 25 years, retiring in 1977. John was a member of Teamsters Local #829. He was the son of the late Laura (Purcell) and John Shea Sr.
He is survived by his daughter Virginia Ogonosky of West Concord and the late Barbara Goodwin. Father in law of Thomas Goodwin of Chelsmford and the late Gerry Ogonosky. Loving grandfather of Thomas Goodwin of Fitchburg, Kelly Hennessey of North Chelmsford, Geoffrey Ogonosky of Arlington. Loving great grandfather of Jason Goodwin and Ashley Hennessey. He was the former husband of Lorraine (Goguen) Shea of Concord. Brother of the late Raymond Shea, Mildred Giroux, Dorothy Sullivan and Lillian Barton.
A memorial service will be at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Saturday, May 10 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 10 to 11AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
