Laconia-Patrick Lionel Martel, 59, of 33 Pine Street died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 unexpectedly at home.
Patrick was born in Laconia on January 17, 1949 the son of the late Aime F. and Rachel M. (Guyer) Martel. He was raised and schooled in Laconia, and had been a lifelong resident.
Patrick was employed as a heavy equipment operator by the City of Laconia, Department of Public Works. He had also worked for Dupont Construction in Laconia, and Nutter Enterprises, Inc. of Belmont. Patrick served with the 368th Engineer Division, Company B, Army Reserves.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Carol J. (Moore) Martel of Laconia; four brothers, Richard, Kenneth, Roger, and Robert Martel all of Laconia; one sister, Luanne Kabachis also of Laconia; a step-son, Demisson Chiasson of Belmont; a step-daughter, Carol Chiasson of Concord. Five step-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews also survive Patrick.
Visiting hours were on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from 3-5 pm at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Inurnment within a niche at the Columbariums took place at the New Hampshire State Veterans, Boscawen on October 20, 2008 at 3:00 p.m.
