Salem: Frank Beauregard age 88 of Salem, died at his home Tuesday evening, September 30, 2008, with his wife of 61 years, Annette R. (Charbonneau) by his side.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Donat and Rose (Richard) Beauregard. A graduate of Ste. Anne School he attended St. Joseph Academy and completed his high school at the La Salette Seminary in New Hampshire. In 1942 Frank joined the Army Air Corps and completed 36 combat flights as an aerial engineer-gunner on the B-24 bombers. He was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross, The Air Medal and the Presidential Unit Badge all with clusters as well as the Victory Medal with 5 stars. Following his tour of duty, Frank returned to Salem, and in April of 1947 he married Annette. He completed electrical courses at the Franklin Institute and worked 40 years out of Union Local 259 now Local 103 of Boston from which he retired in 1985. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1524, the D.A.V., the Knights of Columbus and the Richelieu Club all of Salem. Frank was a member of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 sons: Raymond Beauregard and his wife Mary Lou of Des Moines, IA, Norman Beauregard and his wife Nancy of Houston, TX, Roland Beauregard and his wife Melody of Weare, NH, Philip Beauregard of Charlestown, SC, 2 daughters: Pauline Needham of Lynn, and Claire Maneiro and her husband Manuel of Amesbury, 2 brothers: George Beauregard of Salem and Joseph Beauregard of Goffstown, NH, a sister, Jeannette Levasseur of Beverly, 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Armand Beauregard and grand-daughter Anne Marie Beauregard.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 9 am at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, followed by his funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, Salem at 10 am. Visiting hours: Friday 4 to 8 pm.
