Bobby Steve Moore, age 62, passed away on September 29, 2008 in Water Valley, MS. He was born October 29, 1945 to Moody George and Effie Ray Moore in Yalobusha County. He served in the National Guard and worked for the University of MS as an Electrical Power Line Superintendent in Oxford. In his younger days, Steve loved to fox hunt, and he was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his cattle farm, but his grandchildren were his greatest joy. Steve was a member of First Christian Church in Water Valley, MS.
The visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 from 6 until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. David Freeman and Dr. Gerald Shook officiating. Committal will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Lamar Gardner, Jessie Harvel, Charles Rogers, Dalton Rogers, John Wood, Eddie Rogers, Danny Forsyth, and Larry Carr serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Calvin Malone, Charles Redman, Todd Perkins, Jerry King, Charles Dennis, Aubrey Davis, Wayne Moore and Butch Surrette.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Irene Hughes Moore of Water Valley, MS; a daughter, April Moore White and husband Terry, of Oxford, MS; a son, Chad Moore and wife Kelli Davis Moore of Water Valley, MS; two brothers, M. D. Moore of Bartlett, TN and Benny Ray Moore of Columbus, MS; and four grandchildren, Ashley and Brian White and Hunter and Grayson Moore.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his best friend, Rick Palmertree.
