GREAT MILLS, MD: Nicole “Nikki” Geary Phelan, 22, formerly of Gloucester, died on Thursday, September 18, 2008, at the Charles County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in La Plata, Maryland.
Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on November 16, 1985 she was the daughter of Sandra L. Parker Hawthorn and Dana E. Geary.
She attended Gloucester High School her first three years of high school and was a graduate of Westlake High School class of 2004 in Waldorf, Maryland. Nikki was a student at the College of Southern Maryland.
She loved art and enjoyed taking care of her two dogs, two cats and a variety of fish. She was also a member of the Quilter’s Guild in Waldorf, MD.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Sean Phelan; stepfather Jerome P. Hawthorn; stepmother Kristine Geary; brother Cody A. Geary; maternal great-grandmother Rita A. Wade; maternal grandparents Peter and Elizabeth Tinella, Harold
and Marilyn Parker; paternal grandparents Robert David Geary and Irene Elizabeth Geary; her in-laws Michael J. Phelan and Patricia M. Phelan. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 – 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the family.
