TEWKSBURY - Francis E. “Franny” Lennon, 67, died unexpectedly at his home Friday evening,Dec. 28, after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was with his wife, Patricia A. (Palino)Lennon, with whom he had celebrated a 43rd wedding anniversary this past May 4th.
He was born in Boston, August 14, 1934, a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Galvin) Lennon. Hewas raised in Somerville and graduated Somerville High School. He had lived in Tewksbury forthe past 32 years.
He served in the Massachusetts National Guard for 8 years during the Korean War, and wasdischarged at the rank of Sergeant.
He began his work career at Liquid Carbonics in Tewksbury in the air separation plant, worked incylinders, and retired as a medical/industrial gas technician specialist. He retired in 1996, afterserving Liquid for more than 38 years. He was a member of the AFL-CIO Teamsters Local 49.Since his retirement, he had worked at Thayer’s Tewksbury Citgo on Main Street, and last yearbecame a starter at Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover.
He thoroughly enjoyed golf, and had played most of the public courses in New England inaddition to being a frequent traveler to Myrtle Beach for the love of golf. His latest joy waswine-making.
He was a communicant of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and her husband Randall Daynard ofHudson, NH, Gail and her husband Peter Michailides of Hudson, one son and daughter-in-law,Michael and his wife Margaret (Bosia) Lennon of Dracut, seven grandchildren, Kenneth andKristen Daynard, Nicholas, and Christopher Michailides, Nichole, Michael and Jake Lennon, andtwo nephews, Steven and James Lennon both of Billerica.He was also brother of the late Ronald Lennon and Joseph Lennon.
Funeral MassThursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte 38) Tewksbury. Visitinghours Wednesday evening 6 to 9 p.m. Interment in Tewksbury Cemetery.
