Obituary

Eileen Mary (Muldoon) Smith, born in Lynn, Massachusetts, Sept. 2nd 1928. As a youngster she belonged to the local volley ball team and girls marching drill corp. at Barry Park in Lynn.
She graduated from Saint Jean's High School in 1947, and went to work for General Electric in West Lynn on an assembly line for 3 years. During that time she tap danced for several years in the G. E. annual variety shows as well as tap danced professionally on the weekends in nights clubs along the east coast. She left General Electric to join the United States Marine Corp. While stationed at Paris Island in North Carolina she tap danced at the Officer’s club and in numerous variety shows that were televised locally. Eileen served 3 years as a marine and was honorably discharged. After leaving the U.S.M.C. Eileen worked as a medical secretary for Union Hospital in Lynn and she worked at franks sea grill as a server where she was a favorite among the locals. Eileen worked hard all her life to provide a stable and loving environment for her loving daughters. Her pride, exuberant personality, and smile guided her way to a loving and fulfilling life. Eileen is survived by her daughter’s, Eileen and Phyllis, her grand children, Stephen and Mark Chopelas, her loving sister Phyllis Muldoon Curley, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial visitation was held at Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home at 390 North Main Street, Andover, on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, from 4 PM to 7:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 7:30 PM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended.
