HOOD, MARGARET RYAN, 81, of Louisville, passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 at Park Terrace and returned home to our Heavenly Father.
She was a retired employee of General Motors Chevrolet Parts Division.
Margaret loved Florida and lived there for several years until Ray's death in 1964. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church and worked tirelessly for her Lord in many different capacities. She served as Sunday School teacher for many years and loved working with the children. She also worked with the Senior Citizens group writing articles and editing the newsletter.
Margaret spent numerous hours volunteering at the USO and later at her first love, the Healthcare Industry both in Florida and Louisville. Most recently she volunteered at Southwest Hospital.
Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Raymond Hood.
Margaret is survived by her brothers, Si Ryan and Richard Ryan; nieces and nephews, Karen Early, Sharon Raque, Jeanie Whatley, Bambi Guthrie, Terri Felker, Rick Ryan and Kevin Ryan; several great-nieces; and many friends.
There will be a memorial service 10 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2008 at Valley View Baptist Church, 8911 Third Street Road. Owen Funeral Home, Dixie Highway is in charge of arrangements.
