Neal Peterson, Jr., age 63, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008 after a lengthy illness at Baptist Memorial Hospital – N MS in Oxford, MS. He was born June 24, 1945 to William Neal & Ruth Sanders Peterson in Sturgis, MS. Neal was a veteran of the United Sates Marine Corps and worked in the metal building business until becoming disabled. He was an avid Mississippi State fan and a sports enthusiast (including fishing and hunting). Neal’s wish was to leave his body donated to the Medical Education and Research Institute in Memphis, TN.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS at 2 pm. The family will begin receiving friends at 1:30 pm.
He leaves a loving wife, Jamie Peterson of Water Valley, MS; seven children, Will “Beaver” Peterson of Starkville, MS, Tim Peterson of Water Valley, MS, Lisa Marler of Starkville, MS, Kristeen Rush of Tupelo, MS, Kelle Hester of Memphis, TN, Rebekah Toner of Oxford, MS, and Kimberly Cook of Mesa, AR; a sister, Nancy Peterson Wright of Memphis, TN; and 14 grandchildren.
