DRACUT - Estelle "Snookie" (Boutin) Maille, 64, a resident of Dracut, and former longtime Lowell resident, died Wednesday September 24th, at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, following a long battle with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension. She was the wife of the late Paul L. Maille, to whom she was married 41 years at the time of his death in 2004.
She was born in Lowell on May 28, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Wilfred "Benny" and Cecile (Larose) Boutin. She attended St. Joseph Grammar School in Lowell and the former Lowell Trade School.
Earlier in her life, Mrs. Maille was employed by St. Marie Parish (now Holy Family Parish) in South Lowell.
She was an avid bowler at the CMAC Bowling Alley, with the L'Amical Girls Bowling League. She enjoyed playing cribbage in the St. Marie Cribbage League, with her husband Paul, and with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed music, and spending time with her family and her cat Spaz.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Paul R. and Ruth Maille of Bristol, RI; her daughter Victoria Ann Maille and her longtime companion Roger Ferreira, both of Lowell; three grandchildren Evan Maille, a pharmacology student at Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany, NY, Scott Maille, and Kendra Maille all of Bristol, RI; three brothers, and a sister-in-law Roger and Pearl Boutin of Gilford, NH, Robert Boutin of Billerica, and Richard Boutin of Lowell; two brothers-in-law Donald Harvey and Raymond Maille, both of Lowell; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; her extended family, the Maille's and Foley's; and many close friends dear to her.
She was also the sister of the late Pauline Harvey and Jackie Koziol.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Friday from 5 until 8 PM. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday at 9 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM at Holy Family Parish (formerly St. Marie Parish), Grafton St., in Lowell.
