Obituary

WEBSTER – Ferdinand Para, 91, of 70 Pond Court, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008.

He leaves his wife of 64 years, Joyce E. (Harrison) Para; two sons, Fred A. Para and his wife Joyce T. of Dudley and Gregory J. Para and his wife Linda of Quinebaug, CT; a sister, Mary Duszlak of Jacksonville, FL; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; nephews and nieces.

He was born in Willimantic, CT, a son of Frank and Mary (Adelska) Para. He lived in Webster most of his life.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Para was a weaver at several textile mills in the area. He was then a glass cutter at Guardian Industries before retiring in 1981.

He was a former member of the Church of the Reconciliation.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Transitional Care Unit at Hubbard Regional Hospital for their caring support during Mr. Para’s illness.

The funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 0l70l. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street.
