Helen Martinelli, a life-long resident of Boston’s North End, died at home on Saturday. She was 83.
A life long North End resident, Helen worked as an accountant throughout her life. She worked many years at the former Lauriate’s Book Store in Downtown. She later worked for Long’s Jewelers until she retired. Helen was active in several social clubs in the North End. She was a dedicated parishioner at St. Leonard Church and cultivated a strong devotion to Saint Anthony.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Rosetti) Martinelli. She was a devoted sister to the late Antionetta, Josephine and Pasquale Martinelli, Louise Guarino and her husband Antonio. She was a loving Godmother to Lorraine Spagnuolo of Arlington. She was a cherished friend of the DeMarco family.
Helen’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Leonard Church, Hanover St., Boston, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit Tuesday morning from 9 -10:30. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
