New Bedford– Maria (Albano) Madeira, age 86 yrs., passed away at home after a long illness on Saturday, September 20, 2008. She was the wife of Jose Madeira of New Bedford. She was the mother of Maria Carreira, Fatima Almeida, Victoria Madeira, Joao C. Madeira, Berta Soares all of New Bedford, and the late Jose M. Madeira. She was the sister of Maria dos Anjos Mederios of St. Michael, and she was also survived by 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and also several nieces and nephews,.
Mrs. Madeira was the daughter of the late Alexandrina (Pereira) and Antonio Pereira Albano. She was born in St. Michael, Azores and lived in this area since 1979.
Mrs. Madeira’s Funeral will be Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 9 a.m. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 9 Relatives and Friends are invited. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
